A number of myocarditis cases which were reported in the aftermath of the coronavirus vaccine were likely linked to the inoculation, the Health Ministry announced on Tuesday evening. The majority of the cases involved young men.

The concentrations were most noted in the liver, spleen, ovaries, uterus, testes and small intestine. Lower concentrations were found throughout the body in tissue samples from mice, rats and primates.

The leaked document showed that most cases were reported among young men aged 18-30. A total of 62 cases of myocarditis have occurred so far in Israel around the time of the vaccination, 56 of them after the second dose. Some 55 cases occurred among men.

The researchers also stressed that more research is needed to confirm the connection between the vaccine and the phenomena.

Both on the night after the vaccination and 7 days later, the patient reported marked flu-like symptoms and a fever.
